Capitol Debate Improv Group proudly presents a summer of improvisation in partnership with the National Comedy Theater! For two decades, the National Comedy Theatre has been entertaining audiences of all sizes and types across the nation with a unique brand of interactive, improv comedy. The teachers from the National Comedy Theatre have been featured in commercials, film, and on television as well as performed in theaters across the country and all around the world. Whether you want to perform improv in front of a live audience, nail that next audition or develop skills that can help you on any stage, set or work environment, improv camp can help you achieve your goals. Under the guidance of some of National Comedy Theatre’s best instructors, campers will have the opportunity to explore the world of improvisational acting and speaking. Improv is the art of creating scenes in the moment with the other actors on stage, which makes it a great way to learn how to think quick and be spontaneous. Capitol Improv students will learn quickly from leading performers, working together with other students to improve their skills and, ultimately, build an outstanding performance that friends and family will be invited to attend at the end of our camp. Capitol Improv workshops feature fundamentals of improvisational comedy, character and scene development, self-confidence, thinking on your feet and the experience of planning and putting on a full performance. The mission of Capitol Improv workshops is to encourage and nurture our students’ creativity, connectedness, confidence and curiosity. Our veteran staff create a fun and supportive environment where campers can explore, grow, and learn allowing them to become thinkers and leaders in their community. Come join students from all over the nation and world and find your creative genius!
