The Grove at Greenwoods is located on the shore of Lake of the Woods in Southwest, Michigan. The Grove offers the essence of a traditional camp with distinct two-week sessions for boys ages 6-14. The Grove at Greenwoods was the inspiration of Director Dayna Hardin. Dayna has over 20 years experience as a camper, staff member, Associate Director, owner and Director of Greenwoods Camp for Boys. The Grove is inspired by the same philosophy, values, spirit and feeling of family that have made Greenwoods such a special home for many generations of boys since 1935. The Grove facility, which was constructed in 2005, includes state-of-the-art cabins, a beautiful new recreation hall, four new tennis courts, a new Olympic pool, athletic fields and a spacious new dining room. The program at The Grove promotes individual growth and achievement. The staff provide expert individual and small group instruction in all activities and encourage campers to expand their horizons and try new activities. Our overall staff-to-camper ratio of 1 to 3 ensures that campers receive the individual attention they deserve. We hire young teachers and mature college and graduate students, many of whom are education or recreation majors, from around the world. Two to three counselors live with campers in each cabin. The Grove is a wonderful combination of individually selected and group-oriented activities. Campers select their electives from over 30 different land and water activities. While known for its extensive water sport offerings, the campers have ample opportunities to play land sports like soccer, lacrosse, basketball and baseball and to explore their own interests. Campers spend their mornings participating in activities as a cabin group. They spend each afternoon doing their individually selected activities. We customize a program for each camper based upon his interests.
