Ihduhapi (EE-dohop-ee) is of Lakota origin, meaning "Independence." At YMCA Camp Ihduhapi, campers enjoy a variety of memorable daily adventures, learn new skills, and build lasting relationships in a beautiful setting. Conveniently located, close to home and just far enough away, only 22 miles west of the Twin Cities near Loretto, MN, on 175 acres on beautiful Lake Independence. Our location is ideal for both first time and returning campers.
Traditional, Specialty and Leadership Development Camps are available. Specialty Camp choices include Horseback Riding, Waterskiing, Sailing, Fishing, Ropes Challenge and Teen Extreme. Day and overnight camp options available.
Campers participate in an overnight tenting excursion on the camp property. Our Leadership Development Programs build lifelong skills through activities projects and team-building exercises.
We nurture character development in our campers through the four core values of the Y: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Choose from 3-day; 1-, 2- or 3-week sessions designed to thrill both the new or experienced camper.
