The Village Academy Performing Arts Program educates students in a variety of disciplines in dance and theater, while incorporating world-class guest instructors, field trips to local college and professional productions, and in-depth academic and cultural studies. The program also promotes important life skills such as creativity, self-confidence, discipline, and leadership. Students who select the Visual/Performing Arts Graduation Track have increased individual studio time and work toward a completed portfolio of creative samples as a part of their endorsement requirements. In addition to the disciplines below, Visual and Performing Arts are cross-curricular programs at Village Academy. Students study the arts as an outlet for their creativity, while also learning about the relationship between these disciplines to world history and current events. This approach promotes a deeper appreciation of the arts, and an understanding of the impact the arts continue to have on the global community.
