Twinlow is one of the oldest camps in the Northwest Region of the United States. Founded in 1928, we have been in existence continually serving the camping and retreating needs of the United Methodist Church and it predecessors and open to all peoples. As the story goes, there came a time in the early 1920s when the Methodists of the Coeur D Alene and Spokane area realized that a place, or “Assembly” was needed for the young people of the church to gather and experience God outside the walls of the church. Twin Lakes was a popular tourist area in the early 1900s as evidenced by the likes of Bing Crosby who had a cabin here and partly because of the Great Northern Railway train service that came straight to the lake from the downtown Spokane Depot on its way to places like Pend Oreille and Priest Lake
