The Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta is situated in the fast-paced professional marketplace of a major metropolitan hub for business, the arts and transportation. Located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta's Midtown, SCAD-Atlanta offers classroom and exhibition space, well-equipped computer labs, a library, photography darkrooms, printmaking and sculpture studios, residence halls, a fitness center and more in a dynamic learning environment. SCAD Summer Seminars students participate in two different workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each workshop meets two and one-half hours each day for five days. Student work from all workshops is displayed at a closing exhibition. Workshops may include demonstrations, lectures, studio work and local field trips. Students have access to the college's extensive facilities, resources and libraries. Supplies are provided. All activities are concluded by 11 p.m; students must remain in the residence hall after that time. In the afternoon, students have lunch and are encouraged to participate in planned activities that may include cultural outings, shopping and social events.
