At the School of Rock, Marlboro, we can custom tailor a program to meet the needs and schedule of any student. If you are just starting our, Rock 101 may be the perfect place for you! Learn the basics and get ready to graduate into our Performance Program. If you are already have the basics, the Performance program is the place to be. You get private lessons and rehearsal Jam Sessions with a band. After completing the program, usually 9 weeks, you are off to your first real gig at a live venue! The Monmouth County School of Rock offers music lesson and performance based programs for students at all ages and skill levels. From our introductory "Rock 101" program to our Performance Program, students learn to play legendary songs from the greatest bands of all time. We have a great summer camp that not only is fun but works great with your summer fun schedule!! Rock 101: Our Rock 101 is for students that want to learn a new instrument. The student will learn the basic of various instruments and how they come together to create a song. We focus on improving the campers’ music and performance skills through a combination of music theory, instrumental technique and performance practice. The Beatles: We will take the camper through a whole host of “Beatles” repertoire and history. They will practice various songs and they will perform at our own version of the Cavern Club. iPod Shuffle: (intermediate): We let our School of Rock campers pick and choose the songs that will make up their set list for the final performance on the last day of camp! In the past we have chosen modern rock songs. These songs are decided the first day of camp by the campers and rock camp counselor. Songwriting and Recording: Our professional staff guides through exercises to learn about self-expression, cooperation and advanced musical skills. The student will learn about the technical process behind songwriting and recording, working on both original and cover material. We offer these camps to open to intermediate and advanced musicians and offer the same activities as our Performance Camp, plus the additional benefits of: • Writing Songs The staff will guide the students to focus on collaboration, writing and rehearsing original, how to structure songs, and write lyrics. • Making a Record Learn the recording process, introduction to multi-track recording, basic editing, vocal camping, mixing and basic effects. Rock Goddesses: There is a rock goddess in all of us Girls!! Our rock goddess camp lets girls experience what it is like to be a rock goddess! This summer, give your Diva a chance to be immersed in Rock and Roll and no more singing into the hair brush! Sign her up; she will love every minute of it! Pop Music: Like the latest hits?! Enjoy listening to older Pop music? Great, you've come to right place!! Here young musicians can hone their existing skills while developing new skills and interest. The qualified camp will assist in musical and vocal development, while ensuring the camper has a great experience! iPod Shuffle (All Levels): We let our School of Rock campers pick and choose the songs that will make up their set list for the final performance on the last day of camp!
