The next pastor, Dr. Grier, remained until the mid 50's. The church continued to flourish at this site. After Dr. Grier's retirement, an energetic young man named Joe S. McClure, who had served this church during his seminary days, was called to be the pastor. In the mid-eighties, a new sanctuary was constructed beside the 1921 building. On July 31, 1988, the first service was held in this new building. To make the "old-timers" feel at home in a new building, the present sanctuary was made to look as much like the old one as possible.
