HORSES, HORSES, HORSES is what you get at Falcon Horse Lover Camp. From the first feeding in the morning until the sun goes down at night, the focus is on horses. This unique program provides each camper with their own horse for the week. The typical day involves 3 to 4 hours of actual riding time. This time is divided between group and individual lessons, trail rides and games. The remainder of the day includes ground work, Horse Care and other activities around the stables. We do find time each day to cool off with a swim down at the lake. LEVEL I: This level is designed for campers with a love of horses but limited prior experience. The teaching emphasis is on basic skills with all gaits. Steering and control is stressed throughout the week. LEVEL II: This level is ideal for riders with some experience seeking to upgrade their horsemanship. Ground poles, instruction for jumping positions and emergency dismounts are typical skills taught throughout the week. LEVEL III: These equestrians will sharpen their skills on both the flat and some work over cavalleti. Balance, schooling without stirrups, and improving overall technique are emphasized in Level III. Riders will receive some instruction in jumping.
