Through open auditions, classes and camps and a full season of productions, we provide many opportunities to participate on stage or attend something new every month of the year.
Elm Street, formerly the Towne Lake Arts Center, was founded in 2002 by Executive and Artistic Director G.Lora Grooms. Since its inception, it has grown to be a vibrant outlet for theater and arts education for residents of Cherokee County and surrounding communities. Elm Street offers productions in Children’s Theater and Evening Theater as well as Drama Classes and Camps, Teen Arts Nights and a variety of other arts-oriented programs. Elm Street is governed by a working board of directors and is a member of the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Coalition for the Performing Arts, American Association of Community Theaters and the Woodstock Main Street Association.
Students ages 8-14 (limit 20 students) will perform a show they have created for family and friends at the end of the week. Junior Campers - ages 5-7 - (limit 14 students) will perform a musical adaptation of a classic story. Small camp sizes and longer hours (9am-3pm) allow for individual attention. Each student will receive a TLAC t-shirt and a DVD of their final performance. Emphasis is given to ensemble work and building confidence. Learn more about diction, projection, character development.
