Elks Camp Barrett is the "major project" of the Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia state association. Elks Camp Barrett is a camp designated to help young people of all backgrounds develop and grow by affording the opportunity to get out doors and experience adventure and fun. By using this format, it is hoped the campers will gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationship to God and others. Any youth between the ages of 9 and 13 is eligible. They do not have to be needy, but should be worthy, deserving, and or one who would not otherwise have such an opportunity. While at Elks Camp Barrett, the campers are divided into groups of 15-20, usually based on there age. These groups will share 1 of the camps 6 cabins, as well as, participate in camp activities together. The camps cabins and activities are under the supervision of trained counselors, which assures a high level of personal care. Meals are carefully prepared to be tasty and nutritious. A nurse is on the property, or on call, during the regular camping season.
