In the summer of 1980, 60 individuals gathered together to discuss the formation of a new independent Bible church in Fort Worth, Texas. This diverse group was a cross section of the community, consisting of stockbrokers and financial advisors, small business owners and corporate executives, employers and employees, engineers and homemakers—all with a common love for Christ and a shared desire to establish a church that would impact their community through the teaching of the inerrant Word of God. Less than one month after that initial meeting, the church had been formally organized, a Board of Elders appointed, and a name selected: Christ Chapel Bible Church.
