Situated on 116 acres, Camp Winnebago offers an upper camp (used primarily for our summer camp sessions) and a lower camp that is available for public camping. Our upper camp features a swimming pool, large fire ring, walking trails, picnic tables, bench swing, modern cabins, dining hall, and a network of sidewalks and ramps for easy access to all buildings and program areas. Camp Winnebago serves children as young as 6 and adults up to 70+ years of age. Here at Camp Winnebago it is our "Fun Through Accomplishment" attitude that brings our campers back year after year. We make it our mission: "To enhance, through a diversity of experiences, the self-worth, independence, and quality of life of people with developmental diesabilities." Here at Camp Winnebago we employ 40-50 summer staff including a certified lifeguard, nurse, kitchen staff, housekeeping staff, mainenance, and counselors. Our counselors go through a rigorous week of training to prepare them for camp. They become certified in CPR and First-Aid, they go through CPI and OSHA training, and they are tought lifts and transfers. We offer a 2-1 ratio, although arrangements may be made if a 1-1 ratio is needed. Camp Winnebago strives to make each summer season the best that it can be for our campers. We offer a wide range of activities to keep the fun alive throughout the summer and we always focus on our campers' abilities rather than thier disabilities.
