Day Camp is a great entry point for younger campers who want a full outdoor camp experience, but still wish to return home each night. Placed in groups of similar age, day kids participate in a wide variety of group activities, recreational swimming & instruction, a personal choice skill class, as well as, a hot, healthy lunch in our dining hall. The Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are emphasized as campers participate in our character development beads program with a focus on service to others.
Campers build friendships by participating as a group in a wide variety of activities including “Camp Classics”– ensuring all experience the shooting of a bow, paddling a canoe, playing WaWa ball, hiking to special destinations, jumping on the water trampoline and roasting marshmallows.
Campers also select a skill building class each afternoon, to experience the challenges and success of learning something new, something they can’t do at home. These include: Advanced Archery, Camp Carpentry, Circus Arts, Digital Photography, Drama, Frisbee Sports, Outdoor Cooking, Outdoor Skills, Sailing/Canoeing/Paddleboards, Stomp Percussion/Drumming.
Each session, campers will have the opportunity to experience an evening program and stay overnight– guaranteed to be a great experience.
