Many visitors drive straight through on their way to and from the Haleakala summit, never realizing they are passing through one of the most unique areas on the island of Maui, the region known to locals as Upcountry. Piiholo Ranch Zipline is just one of many activities and attractions you will find in this special region. Upcountry is home to Hawaii’s version of the cowboy, our Paniolos, and is also known for its many produce and flower farms. Situated along the flanks of Haleakala, Upcountry begins around Makawao and Pukalani, continues through Kula and Keokea, and wraps up at Ulupalakua.
