Nearly 100 years old, charming Camp Jeanne d’ Arc is located in the northern Adirondack mountains of upstate NY on pristine Lake Chateaugay. Our campus, comprised of 100-acres of woods and fields, is a perfect outdoor playground for our girls ages 7-16. All of our Swiss chalet-style cabins are different with their own personalities. They have the rustic charm of Snow White and the Seven Dwarf’s cottage, with the modern convenience of large screened windows, electricity and indoor bathrooms and showers.
Camp JDA is small by design. We boast a ratio of 3:1, campers to counselors. Not only are our kids personally cared for, they also get to know one another in a “tight-knit” kind of way. Our extraordinary staff and counselors are hand-selected and rigorously trained to keep our girls safe and to be prepared to care for our girls in any given situation. We take this matter most seriously.
Our favorite camper activities include: sailing, water-skiing, tubing, canoeing, stand up paddle-boarding, horseback riding (from beginner to advanced riders), tennis, field hockey, soccer, archery, bb and rifle shooting, hiking, and camping out. Campers also enjoy arts and crafts, dance, music, drama and much, much more. We have many special events and beloved traditions like Feather Picking and Team Games, the 4th of July, Christmas in July, Smugglers, Wacky Wednesdays, Special Sundays and Banquet.
The tradition that we are most proud of at Camp JDA is our recognition of “Camp Spirit.” Camp Spirit is more than being energetic, it’s exemplifying those characteristics that made Jeanne d’Arc (Joan of Arc) the heroine that she was: Faith, Endurance, Courage and Confidence. We continue to model, honor, and encourage these same qualities of greatness at Camp today. This is yet another reason why Camp Jeanne d’Arc has become a beloved place to 4-generations of campers.
