The Early Childhood Center (ECC) is a ministry of Red Bridge United Methodist Church. Our mission is to reach out to young families in the community with children ages 2 through 5. ECC is based upon principles which promote the development of each child's God-given potential for spiritual, scholastic, physical, and social growth. The preschool strives to develop each child's capabilities and self-esteem in a caring and supportive environment, with respect for the child's dignity and individuality.
Each classroom is staffed with a lead teacher and an aide in accordance with the Safe Sanctuaries policy of the United Methodist Church. Children experience weekly music and Gymboree classes, and chapel time with the pastor once a month. We offer "in-house field trips", meaning that children are not taken off-campus, but a variety of educational presentations are brought to them. Past presentations have included farm animals, Mother Nature, and JoHo the storyteller. ECC is open Monday through Friday. The hours of operation are 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with optional twice-monthly extended days until 3:30 PM. Our school year starts in September and ends in May. During the school year we follow the inclement weather schedule of the Blue Valley School District.
