ALASKA FINE ARTS ACADEMY
Celebrating our 30th Anniversary, the Alaska Fine Arts Academy is proud of the legacy began by its founders, Arthur & Eleanor Braendel. In 1946, Art Sr. and Eleanor moved to Alaska and homesteaded part of what is now Eagle River. Art and Eleanor were heavily involved in music instruction and performance. They were two of the original founders of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra. The Braendels performed with the ASO for sixty seasons until their retirement.
